Kraaifontein road resurfacing complete

On Wednesday, 3 September 2025, the City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas, together with Ward Councillor Brenda Hansen and senior Road Infrastructure Management (RIM) officials visited a number of roads that have been resurfaced in the Kraaifontein area.  

'Our focus areas here in Kraaifontein were the resurfacing of Voortrekker Road between Fairfield Road and Van Riebeeck Street, Botfontein Road between Voortrekker Road and Maroela Road and Van Riebeeck Street between Voortrekker Road and Frans Conradie Drive. The sidewalks were also repaired and resurfaced along these roads. Additionally, the stormwater infrastructure was also upgraded on the west side of Van Riebeeck Street at the intersection of 5th Avenue to raise the bell mouth to prevent regular flooding. All road markings were also reinstated, as well as traffic loops, scoots and magnetometers at intersections,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
